Werewolves · Full Moon Night
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Werewolves (“the Service”, “we”, “us”), available at werewolves.openvwx.de and as a Discord Activity, collects and uses personal data when you sign in with Discord and play.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by the owner of the Discord application linked to this site (openvwx / Werewolves). For privacy requests, contact the operator through the Discord application’s support channel or the contact details published in the Discord Developer Portal.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we process:
-
Discord account data obtained via OAuth / the Discord Embedded App SDK:
Discord user ID, username, display name (global name), avatar, and discriminator (if any).
Scopes typically include
identify(and related Activity scopes when launched inside Discord). - Session & auth tokens: Discord access/refresh tokens (or equivalent session credentials) needed to keep you signed in, including in Discord Activity contexts where cookies may not work and a bearer token is used instead.
- Gameplay data: room codes and names, host status, player list, role assignments, votes, chat messages in a room, and game phase state while a match is active.
- Presence & social features: online status, optional room/phase labels shown to other signed-in players, and “played together” links between Discord IDs for in-app social context.
- Technical data: standard server logs that may include IP address, user agent, and request timestamps (as provided by the hosting environment).
We do not ask for your Discord password. Authentication is handled by Discord.
3. Why we process data
- To authenticate you and provide the game (lobbies, matches, presence).
- To show other players who is online and enable invites / social features inside the app.
- To operate, secure, and debug the Service.
- To comply with Discord’s Developer Terms and applicable law.
Legal bases under GDPR (where applicable): performance of a contract (providing the game you request), and legitimate interests in securing and operating the Service. Consent may apply where Discord’s authorization dialog requires it for the requested scopes.
4. Where data is stored & who we share it with
- Game and account data are stored in a database on our hosting provider (e.g. shared web hosting in Germany / the EU, depending on the current host configuration).
-
Discord processes authentication and Activity traffic according to Discord’s own
privacy policy. When you play as a Discord Activity, traffic may be proxied via Discord
(
discordsays.com). - Other players in the same room or with access to presence features can see your display name, avatar, and in-game status/actions as part of normal gameplay.
- We do not sell your personal data.
5. Retention
- Account / token records are kept while you use the Service and until deleted on request or when we purge inactive data.
- Room, chat, and match state are kept for the life of a room and may be removed when a room ends or is cleaned up.
- Presence entries expire shortly after you go offline (heartbeat timeout).
- Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations.
6. Cookies & local storage
We may use a session cookie (and similar storage) to keep you signed in in the browser. In Discord Activity, authentication may rely on an in-memory / client-held bearer token instead of cookies. These are essential for the Service to function.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To request access or deletion of your Werewolves account data, contact the operator (see section 1) and include your Discord username / ID. Signing out ends your session but does not by itself erase stored account history.
8. Children
The Service is intended for users who meet Discord’s minimum age requirements. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
10. Discord policies
Use of Discord features is also governed by Discord’s Terms and Discord’s Privacy Policy.
